| Elizabeth Takacs After graduating from the University of Arizona with a BS in Molecular and
Cellular Biology, Elizabeth (Beth) researched maize chloroplast biogenesis
and bundle sheath and mesophyll cell differentiation for Dr. David Stern
at the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research. In the fall of 2005,
Beth began a PhD program in Plant Biology at Cornell University and joined
Dr. Michael Scanlon's lab. Currently, she is working on the Discolored1
project studying maize kernel development. Outside of the lab, Beth
enjoys hiking, swimming, baking, music, and spending quality time with
family and friends.
